Rakuten Symphony adds agentic AI to telecom site software

Rakuten Symphony, a Tokyo-based telecom software company, said on October 14 that it released Rakuten Site Management 3.0, an infrastructure lifecycle platform that uses agentic AI to detect schedule conflicts, replan work, and manage tasks with natural-language prompts.

The update also adds AI dashboards and preview features for autonomous orchestration and Model Context Protocol server integration.

The integration lets AI agents connect to external tools, data sources, and services through a standardized interface.

Rakuten Symphony said the software covers planning, permitting, construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance, and has been used across more than 3.5 million telecom sites.

Rakuten Symphony describes itself as a Rakuten Group unit focused on telecom technology and has announced plans with Rakuten Mobile to build an Open RAN customer experience center in the UK.
