Skincare brand Veramore said on July 9 that it closed a pre-series A round led by Rakuten Capital to support international expansion.

Veramore said it was Rakuten Capital’s first investment in a K-beauty brand.

Veramore, a South Korean skincare startup founded by CEO Lee Yoo-joo that launched in 2022.

The company said it already sells in South Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia, and the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Veramore said the funding came as it launched on Rakuten Ichiba. The company said it plans to use Japan as a base for broader expansion.
