Quantum computing startup QuEra raises $230m in funding
QuEra Computing has raised more than US$230 million in a recent funding round, the company announced on Feb. 12.
Key investors include Google’s Quantum AI business unit and the SoftBank Vision Fund, although the valuation for this funding has not been disclosed.
The Boston-based firm specializes in neutral-atom quantum computing, using lasers to control uncharged atoms such as rubidium or strontium.
QuEra indicated that US$60 million of the total funding will be allocated upon meeting a specific funding condition that is currently in progress.
The new funding will aid in QuEra’s development of fault-tolerant quantum computing technology, which is designed to maintain reliable performance even amidst computational errors.
