Qualcomm unveils PC chip with business-focused features

Qualcomm has introduced new chips for PCs and phones, including a laptop chip with a security feature for business users.

The company, known for mobile phone chips, has been expanding into the PC market in competition with Apple and Intel.

Its new laptop chip, Snapdragon X2 Elite, will ship next year with a feature called Guardian for remote IT access.

Guardian uses Qualcomm’s modem chips to allow device management through cellular networks, even when devices are off.

The new security feature targets enterprises managing large fleets of laptops and desktops running Windows.
