Qualcomm Technologies, the semiconductor unit of US chipmaker Qualcomm, said on September 22 that it is working with Google to bring its Snapdragon X Elite platform to the first Googlebook laptops.

Dell and HP are taking pre-orders for the devices.

Googlebook is a new laptop category that Google said is built around Gemini intelligence, cross-device connectivity with Android phones and tablets that use Snapdragon, and support for native Android apps and games.

Qualcomm Technologies and Google said the laptops are aimed at Android ecosystem users. Dell and HP are the first original equipment manufacturers, or OEMs, bringing Snapdragon X Elite-powered Googlebooks to market.
