Qapita secures $26.5m series B for US expansion

Qapita, a Singapore-based ESOP management firm that provides equity management solutions for private companies, has secured US$26.5 million in a series B funding round led by Charles Schwab Corporation.

Existing investors Citi and MassMutual Ventures also joined the round.

Qapita said the new funding will support its entry into the United States and the development of a fund administration product aimed at venture capital managers and private market funds.

Charles Schwab and Qapita plan to jointly build Schwab Private Issuer Equity Services, a platform for managing cap tables and employee stock options for private US companies.

Qapita currently employs about seven people in the US, with its chief operating officer relocating there to grow the team.

The company operates in Southeast Asia and India, and intends to adapt its platform for the US market.
