Prosus co-leads $30m for Indian AI startup
Equal AI, an India-focused AI call assistant founded by Keshav Reddy, has raised $30 million in a series B round co-led by Prosus Ventures and Tomales Bay Capital.
Think Investments, Valiant Fund, PhonePe founder Sameer Nigam, and Zubin Bharti Mittal also took part.
The lead investors also co-led Equal AI’s $10 million series A in November 2024, alongside Reddy.
Launched in October 2025, the app screens spam calls, identifies why callers are calling, and acts on users’ behalf.
Equal AI said it has more than 1 million monthly active users and 350,000 daily active users.
It plans to use the new funds to improve its call assistant features and expand into communications, financial services, lifestyle, and concierge services.
The funding comes as mobile users in India received 4,168 crore spam calls over the past year.
In February 2025, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) tightened rules on spam and is considering AI disclosures and consent checks for AI-based telemarketing.
