Chinese robotaxi company Pony.ai files US IPO

Chinese robotaxi firm Pony.ai has filed for an IPO in the United States, as the company plans to list on the Nasdaq with the ticker “PONY,” though details of the offering remain undisclosed.

The IPO is underwritten by Goldman Sachs, BofA Securities, Deutsche Bank, Huatai Securities, and Tiger Brokers.

Pony AI operates a fleet of over 250 robotaxis, covering more than 33.5 million kilometers. Of these, 3.9 million kilometers were driven without a human driver.

This interest is influenced by the US Federal Reserve’s policy shifts and strong benchmark index results.

In the first six months of 2024, Pony.ai reported US$24.7 million in revenues.

This figure is nearly double from the previous year, paired with a net loss of US$51.3 million.
