Pony.ai, ComfortDelGro to launch driverless services in Singapore

Pony.ai, a China-based autonomous driving technology company, plans to launch autonomous vehicle services in Singapore in partnership with ComfortDelGro.

The companies aim to start operations in the Punggol area on fixed routes, pending regulatory approval, within the next few months.

This move follows a memorandum of understanding signed in July 2024 and a pilot project in Guangzhou earlier this year.

Singapore’s Ministry of Transport announced in June 2025 that it will roll out autonomous vehicles in public housing estates by year-end to address driver shortages and improve transportation links.

Pony.ai currently operates driverless robotaxi services in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, and has recently expanded into Qatar, Dubai, Luxembourg, and Seoul through local partnerships and pilot programs.
