PhonePe H1 2026 losses rise 20% as expenses surge

PhonePe’s H1 FY26 losses rose 20% to 1,441 crore rupee (US$157.3 million), mainly due to higher expenses.

Revenue increased 22.2% to 3,918 crore rupee (US$427.7 million), while total income grew 20.7% to 4,174 crore rupee (US$455.7 million).

Operating losses before exceptional items widened 56% to 1,885 crore rupee (US$205.8 million).

This was driven by a 33.5% rise in employee benefits expenses and a 38.2% increase in payment processing charges.

Total expenses climbed from 4,680 crore rupee (US$510.9 million) to 6,069 crore rupee (US$662.6 million).

The net loss was partly offset by 434 crore rupee (US$47.4 million) from the sale of its stake in C.E.Info Systems.

PhonePe has filed an updated draft red herring prospectus with SEBI.
