Philippines’ tokenized assets could reach $60b by 2030: PDAX report

The Philippine Digital Asset Exchange (PDAX), together with Saison Capital and Onigiri Capital, launches Project Bayani, a landmark white paper projecting that the country’s tokenized asset market could reach US$60 billion by 2030.

The report estimates growth across government bonds, equities, mutual funds, and other investment products using blockchain technology.

PDAX, a Philippines-based cryptocurrency and digital asset exchange, said that more than 14% of Filipinos already own cryptocurrencies, compared to 2.4% who own stocks and less than 1% who hold bonds.

Initiatives like the Bureau of the Treasury’s partnership with PDAX and GCash have already enabled the distribution of tokenized government bonds with a ₱500 (US$8.5) minimum investment, making it accessible to first-time investors.

The report finds that nearly half of all bond account holders in the country now hold bonds in tokenized form.

Tokenization involves converting real-world assets into digital tokens on a blockchain, making transactions more accessible and traceable.
