Financial services software provider Finastra said BDO Unibank, a Filipino bank, has upgraded its payments infrastructure with Global PAYplus.

Finastra said the system adds automation and rule-based processing. It also brings high-value and mass-payments processing onto one platform, while supporting ISO 20022 and connections to new domestic and cross-border payment networks as they emerge.

Carlo B. Nazareno, BDO’s head of Cash Management Services, said the upgrade has strengthened the bank’s ability to handle growing transaction volumes, improve efficiency, and adapt to changing market requirements.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the Philippines’ central bank, requires ISO 20022 for retail payments.
