Peter Thiel-backed venture debt firm raises $268.7m fund

Tacora Capital, a Peter Thiel-backed venture debt firm based in Austin, Texas, has raised US$268.7 million for its second fund, according to a recent filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The filing indicates that 28 unnamed investors contributed to this funding round.

This new fund follows Tacora’s first fund in 2022, which raised around US$350 million. This amount included a US$250 million investment from investor Peter Thiel.

It is currently unknown if Thiel participated in this latest fundraising effort, as no comments were provided by Tacora founder and CEO Keri Findley or Thiel’s representatives.
