Perplexity AI has launched its AI-powered web browser, Comet, globally and is offering it for free.

The startup initially released Comet in July for Max subscribers at US$200 per month.

Comet functions as a personal assistant, allowing users to search the web, manage tabs, draft emails, and shop.

The company’s move comes as competitors like Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic introduce their own AI-driven browser tools.
