Peak XV Partners, a venture capital firm focused on India and Southeast Asia, said on September 29 that the 12th cohort of its seed-stage program, Surge, includes 18 early-stage startups across AI, robotics, space, consumer, healthcare, music, and fintech.

The cohort includes startups building autonomous clinical intelligence for primary care, dating products, insurance brokerage tools, AI evaluation and red-teaming software, post-training infrastructure for open-weight models, underground pipe inspection robots, and autonomous satellite systems for radio-frequency sensing.

Peak XV said three companies in the cohort remain in stealth: an education startup, an applied AI lab, and a medical products company.

Founders in Surge 12 include a former Google director who led AI and machine-learning teams, Airbnb’s first female engineer, founding engineers from Sarvam AI, and a former professional baseball player.
