Peak XV leads $13m series A for Indian fintech firm GoodScore

GoodScore, a Bengaluru-based fintech platform, has raised US$13 million in series A funding led by Peak XV Partners, with participation from Stellaris Venture Partners and Saison Capital.

Founded in 2023, the company provides AI-based tools for Indian consumers to track credit scores, manage borrowings, and receive personalized financial insights.

It currently serves millions of users across India, including those in smaller cities.

GoodScore plans to use the fresh capital to expand its product offerings, grow its teams, and enhance its credit marketplace for borrowers and lenders.

The funding comes amid rising repayment stress in India, with personal loan delinquencies hitting a six-quarter high of 3.6% in March 2025 and overdue credit card dues up 44% year-on-year.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

GoodScore’s bureau ties stay unclear, raising consent and access questions

  • GoodScore’s privacy policy offers users a detailed credit report after a “thorough analysis” 1. Its Terms call the company an “authorized representative” to fetch credit information 2. They do not say if it holds direct memberships with TransUnion CIBIL or Experian or CRIF High Mark or Equifax, or if it uses intermediaries.
  • This gap makes it hard to trace consent routing, data handlers, and how to scale insights on its own. In India, direct membership or a licensed intermediary decides how consent is logged and who processes raw bureau files. Clarity will matter as GoodScore expands AI advice plus a credit marketplace with lenders.

Rising delinquencies create demand for plug-and-play repayment systems for fintechs and NBFCs

  • Personal loan delinquencies over 90 days reached 3.6% by March 2025. Credit card overdues at 91 to 360 days rose 44% year on year to nearly ₹34,000 crore, pushed by borrowers with three or more unsecured loans. Fintechs and Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) need scalable backend tools for collections and mandate management, while GoodScore focuses on repayment tracking.
  • Cashfree says UPI AutoPay lifts success rates by 35% and reaches 95% with retries 3. Paired with National Automated Clearing House (NACH) for amounts up to INR 10 lakh 4, these payment systems support recurring payments and bulk launches up to 10,000 mandates with pre-scheduling 3. Builders can partner with or acquire platforms to curb delinquencies and lift net interest margin (NIM).
