Peak XV joins $11.3m series A in Indian fintech firm SalarySe
SalarySe, a fintech firm based in India, has raised US$11.3 million in series A funding led by Flourish Ventures, with participation from Susquehanna Asia VC, Peak XV’s Surge, and Pravega Ventures.
The firm plans to use the new funding to expand its technology and distribution and aims to reach 1,000 companies and 20 million employees over the next three years.
The company offers salary-linked financial products, including a credit-on-UPI service for salaried employees, in partnership with Indian banks and corporate clients.
SalarySe said its platform serves employees at over 100 corporates across sectors like IT, healthcare, and manufacturing.
SalarySe’s co-founders include Mohit Gorisariya, Saumeet Nanda, and Piyush Bagaria.
The company cites rising financial stress among Indian salaried workers as a key reason for its focus on credit access and financial management tools.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Unified Payments Interface (UPI) Credit Line rules and bank adoption will shape SalarySe’s unit economics
- SalarySe runs credit-on-UPI under the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) Credit Line on UPI (CLUPI), which enables pre-approved short-term credit through UPI apps with flexible repayment 1.
- Where banks support CLUPI, users can activate lines on Google Pay or PhonePe (a leading Indian payments app) by linking accounts with pre-approved credit, using Aadhaar (India’s national digital identity) or one-time password (OTP) verification, then setting a dedicated UPI PIN 1.
- Open questions cover merchant discount rates and interchange fees. Credit limits vary by institution, and repayment behavior moves credit scores, so alignment with banks with strong CLUPI setups matters 1.
Human Resource Management System (HRMS) and payroll integrations could unlock rapid distribution to India’s expanding payroll software market
- Third-party fintech firms like SalarySe can plug salary-linked credit into HRMS platforms to reach workforces. India’s payroll services market reached USD 1.78 billion in 2025 and grows at 7.49% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) move to cloud platforms 2.
- Targets include Zoho (a broad enterprise software suite), Ramco Systems (an enterprise applications vendor), and ADP India (the local arm of payroll giant ADP). India’s HRMS market was USD 1.1 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach USD 4.3 billion by 2033 3.
- Cloud payroll tools start at INR 139/month for 100 employees and offer application programming interface (API) hooks as SMEs form the fastest-growing segment at 16.74% CAGR 2.
