Peak XV, Filter Capital lead $50m round for Indian startup Nua
Nua, a Mumbai-based Indian women’s wellness startup, said on September 7 that it raised US$50 million in a series C round led by Peak XV and Filter Capital.
The company will use the funding for brand building, wider distribution, and research and development.
The round also included existing investors Mirabilis Investment Trust and Footpath Ventures. It combined primary funding with a secondary sale that gave Kae Capital, Lightbox VC, and existing angel investors partial exits.
Founded in 2017, Nua sells period care, maternity care, and everyday intimate care products. The company said it serves more than 3 million women and girls each month through its products and digital tools.
Nua previously raised US$4 million in a pre-series C round.
The deal follows other recent funding in India’s women’s health sector. Avni Wellness, an India-based women’s health startup, raised 40 million rupees (US$424,000) in strategic funding.
