Payoneer founder launches new startup in Israel for creators

Yuval Tal, founder of Payoneer and Borderfree, has launched a new startup called Linguana.

The company focuses on global distribution and monetization for content creators. It has secured US$8.5 million in funding from investors like Oren Zeev, Zohar Gillon, Eyal Waldman, and 2LVC.

Linguana employs 26 staff members, mostly based in Israel, and is led by Oded Shafran (chief technology officer) and Eyal Baumel (President of Yoola).

Linguana works with YouTube creators to translate, dub, and distribute videos in multiple languages using AI and human oversight.

The company currently supports nine languages and shares revenue with creators. It manages the localization process, including removing ads and generating voices while preserving the creator’s tone.

Linguana reports a 30% monthly growth rate and aims to expand its language offerings.
