Palo Alto Networks, a US-based cybersecurity company, said on September 22 it would launch Unit 42 Continuous Frontier AI Defense, a global subscription service that uses AI models from Anthropic and OpenAI, along with open-weight models, to identify vulnerabilities across corporate systems.

The company said the service continuously tests web applications, application programming interfaces (APIs), and cloud infrastructure.

It also provides guidance on fixes, including code-level changes and virtual patching options.

Palo Alto said the offering would be available globally through annual subscriptions, with pricing based on the mix of OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-source models customers select.

The launch comes as attackers increasingly scale scams with generative AI, while the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre assessed AI’s near-term impact on cyber threats in a January 2024 report.
