Palo Alto Networks buys AI startup Console: sources
Palo Alto Networks said on September 2 that it had acquired Console, a startup that uses AI agents to automate routine IT help-desk tasks, and would integrate the technology into its Cortex platform.
The cybersecurity company did not disclose financial terms, but two people with knowledge of the deal said it was worth US$500 million in cash and stock.
Palo Alto Networks said Console’s AI agents would let security teams investigate and resolve security alerts using natural language through Cortex.
Founded in 2024 by Andrei Serban, Console has raised US$29 million across two funding rounds and was valued at US$157 million before the sale, according to PitchBook.
The Console deal is Palo Alto Networks’ seventh acquisition in 2026, according to PitchBook.
