Palantir, Ondas launch AI venture for defense customers
Ondas, a US-listed defense technology company, and Palantir Technologies are launching Regna AI, a venture that will build AI models for government and commercial customers to run in their own systems and on field hardware during sensitive operations.
Ondas will initially own Regna AI outright and serve as its first customer. Palantir will provide training infrastructure and help tailor the models to customer workflows.
The companies said Regna AI will start with intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance use cases.
It will also support autonomous systems in low-connectivity settings, with software designed to assess evidence, compare options, and recommend mission updates that remain subject to human approval.
The launch follows Ondas’ September acquisition of Insignito, Ottopia Defense, and Caribou Labs for US$56 million. Those deals brought Ondas’ portfolio to more than 15 businesses assembled over the past two years.
