Oyo Assets raises $13.9m to pursue hotel acquisitions
OYO Assets, also known as Sunday PropTech, has secured 125 crore rupee (US$13.95 million) in new funding from institutional and private investors, with InCred leading the round.
The company focuses on acquiring and developing hotels in India’s premium and mid-premium segments.
OYO Assets will use the funds to support growth, expand asset management, and pursue hotel acquisitions, targeting 12 deals this financial year, with seven in advanced stages of discussion.
The hotels will operate under PRISM’s brands, including Sunday Hotels, Palette Hotels, Townhouse, and select US brands.
In September, Sunday PropTech raised 50 crore rupee (US$5.58 million) from InCred and an Analah-led investor group.

🧠 Food for thought
Implications, context, and why it matters.
Sunday PropTech’s legal ties to OYO and asset quality remain unclear
- The article leaves the legal link between Sunday PropTech (OYO Assets) and PRISM unclear 1. PRISM is a hospitality brand platform that licenses and operates multiple hotel brands. The tie to OYO/Oravel Stays, and the basis for using OYO-linked names like Sunday Hotels and Townhouse, also stay vague 1.
- The piece skips core metrics like occupancy, Average Daily Rate (ADR), and Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR), so readers cannot judge whether Rs 125 crore matters to the expansion plan 2. Portfolio results would help, since Sunday Hotels in Chandigarh hit 109% RevPAR growth with ₹4,069 Average Room Rate (ARR) 1.
- Sunday PropTech says it runs apart from PRISM with a separate board and finances 1. Mint calls OYO Assets PRISM’s asset acquisition arm 2. The gap raises questions about real autonomy.
Hotel consolidation in India opens room for retrofit tech vendors
- Consolidation of mid-premium hotels should lift demand for retrofit upgrades (improvements to existing properties rather than new builds) across property management and revenue tools. Payments, guest apps, and Internet of Things (IoT) energy gear will see interest too. India has 196,464 branded rooms in 2,008 hotels 3. Another 114,000 rooms sit in the pipeline 3.
- Investors and hospitality technology operators should map where new hotel builds cluster. Most projects sit in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Jaipur, and Goa 3. Tier 1 cities posted 75.2% occupancy with $119 ADR 3. Vendors can aim sales and partnerships at owners in the fastest consolidating spots beyond Sunday PropTech.
