Orange, Morrison plan $3.4b France data center venture
Orange, France’s largest telecom operator, and Morrison, an infrastructure investment manager, plan to create a data center company in France with a target capacity of 400 megawatts.
The venture would involve a planned 3 billion euros ($3.4 billion) investment to expand digital infrastructure in the country.
Orange would contribute five data centers across four campuses in France, along with operational expertise and commercial reach.
Morrison would provide infrastructure and data center investment expertise, and commit equity. The company would have nearly 10x the capacity of Orange’s current data center portfolio in France.
The companies said demand for hosting capacity is rising quickly, driven by AI, cloud computing, and large-scale data processing.
They expect to sign the deal by the end of this year and complete it in the first quarter of 2027.
