Oracle introduced Fusion Agentic Applications and AI agents for human resources (HR) in Oracle Fusion Cloud Human Capital Management (HCM) on August 11.

The AI agents are designed to help organizations keep job roles and employee profiles current, support internal mobility, and identify emerging skills needs earlier.

Oracle said the launch includes eight HR applications now available within Fusion Cloud HCM.

They use enterprise data, workflows, policies, approval hierarchies, permissions, and transactional context to automate routine work while surfacing exceptions, tradeoffs, and decisions where human judgment materially changes the outcome.

Oracle described Fusion Cloud HCM as a unified cloud suite for HR processes built on one data model with embedded AI.

It said the new tools are native extensions rather than standalone add-ons.

The move comes as SAP marketed agents for HR workflows in SAP SuccessFactors HCM.

Meanwhile, the European Union’s AI Act classifies many employment-related AI systems as high risk and is set to require oversight, transparency, and monitoring from December 2, 2027.
