Oracle forecasts $166b cloud revenue by fiscal 2030

Oracle expects its cloud infrastructure revenue to reach US$166 billion by fiscal 2030, making up nearly 75% of its projected total sales of US$225 billion.

The company also forecasts adjusted profits of US$21 per share for the same period.

At a meeting with financial analysts, CEO Clay Magouyrk said recent bookings came from several large customers beyond OpenAI, including US$20 billion from Meta.

Oracle reported US$65 billion in new cloud commitments in a recent 30-day period and a 28% rise in quarterly cloud revenue to US$7.2 billion.

Shares rose 3% after the announcement but slipped 2% in after-hours trading.

🧠 Food for thought

Implications, context, and why it matters.

Oracle’s $166B cloud target hinges on “bookings” that may not convert to revenue for years

  • Oracle says it booked $65B of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) deals in 30 days, and it targets $166B in cloud revenue by fiscal 2030. It gave no updated Remaining Performance Obligations (RPO) at the analyst meeting. That gap makes it hard to judge conversion and timing. Bookings are signed customer commitments that turn into revenue as services are delivered. RPO is contracted revenue not yet recognized.
  • A $60B hypothetical AI infrastructure contract example spreads costs evenly over six years. This structure means delivery over time, so today’s bookings could take years to become revenue.

Systems integrators can win OCI migration work with richer partner incentives

  • Oracle’s push to scale AI infrastructure needs more partners. The enhanced Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) offers monetary incentives and Oracle Partner Credits that partners can redeem for added benefits.
  • Systems integrators (consultancies that assemble and deploy complex IT systems) serve enterprises. Managed service providers (third-party firms that run and maintain clients’ IT environments) do as well. They can use training with enablement, development with testing environments, plus Oracle’s Collaborative Customer Engagements process (a joint account-planning and sales framework) to win migration and implementation projects.
  • Joint sales with marketing, labeled go to market collaboration, sit within the program. Oracle Cloud Marketplace listings (Oracle’s catalog of third-party software) give independent software vendors (ISVs) a path to build OCI-native solutions. That also raises visibility with customers as Oracle cites multi-customer demand beyond OpenAI.
