Openspace Ventures rebrands as Openspace Capital, launches funds

Openspace Ventures has rebranded as Openspace Capital and is rolling out two new funds focused on equity growth and private credit.

The venture capital firm is launching the Orbit Listed Growth Fund in partnership with Australian fund manager Perennial Partners, aiming to help companies list on the Singapore Exchange (SGX).

Shane Chesson, founding partner of Openspace, said the collaboration with Perennial brings experience from the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and its active initial public offering (IPO) market.

Udhay Furtado, a former Citibank and Goldman executive, will lead the Orbit fund as chief investment officer (CIO).

The fund’s pipeline includes companies in financial services, healthcare, software, and consumer sectors, all with a strong AI angle.

Openspace’s second fund, Onyx Growth Credit, targets US$200 million to provide loans between US$15 million and US$30 million to companies seeking growth capital.

Omesh Fabani, Openspace’s head of credit, will lead the Onyx fund.
