OpenAI urges action to maintain US AI leadership
On Sunday, OpenAI released a document titled “Economic Blueprint.”
The document calls for targeted investment and regulatory measures to ensure the United States retains its leadership in AI, particularly in competition with China.
The 15-page blueprint emphasizes the significance of “chips, data, and energy” in advancing AI technology.
It warns that US$175 billion in global funding for AI projects could be redirected to initiatives backed by China if the US does not respond promptly.
The proposal includes recommendations for export controls on AI models to prevent their misuse by adversarial nations.
OpenAI raised US$6.6 billion last year and seeks additional funding to enhance its position in the competitive AI landscape.
