OpenAI to end ChatGPT support on WhatsApp in Jan 2026

OpenAI will discontinue ChatGPT on WhatsApp starting January 15, 2026, following a change in WhatsApp’s policy and terms.

Users can continue their conversations by linking their WhatsApp account to a ChatGPT account, available on iOS, Android, web, and macOS.

Once linked, users’ phone numbers and past WhatsApp conversations will appear in ChatGPT history, but new chat history will not transfer automatically after the cutoff.
