OpenAI taps chief operating officer to lead global expansion

OpenAI has appointed chief operating officer (COO) Brad Lightcap to lead global expansion and corporate partnerships, strengthening its AI sector presence.

The company is partnering with SoftBank Group and Oracle to establish a network of data centers as part of the US$500 billion Stargate project.

This initiative aims to support large-scale AI-related workloads.

CEO Sam Altman said that Lightcap will oversee business strategy, key partnerships, and infrastructure to maximize OpenAI’s impact.
