OpenAI said it is starting a global rollout of GPT-6 in ChatGPT, adding an Intelligent UI that can respond with graphics, charts, forms, and interactive tools, not just text.

The rollout begins in the Chat tab for Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise tiers on October 8. It expands to Free and Go tiers from October 9. Enterprise access depends on workplace admin settings. The models powering Work and Codex are unchanged.

OpenAI also said GPT-6 can start replying while it continues reasoning. For questions that need web search, GPT-6 Instant starts answering 44% sooner on average than GPT-5.6 Instant.

The planned expansion to free users comes amid publisher concerns that AI search features are costing publishers referral traffic.
