OpenAI to push back mega IPO until 2027, NYT says

OpenAI is reportedly leaning toward delaying its initial public offering until 2027.

The company previously stated on June 9 only that it had filed confidentially with the US Securities and Exchange Commission without deciding on specific timing.

OpenAI has completed a restructuring into a for-profit public benefit corporation, with its nonprofit retaining control, a move that could pave the way for an eventual listing.

Chief executive Sam Altman pushed advisers to seek a $1 trillion valuation, which would be unprecedented for a US IPO.

Bankers also cited tech-stock volatility and swings in SpaceX shares after its record IPO.
