OpenAI reportedly plans to redesign ChatGPT in the coming weeks into a broader app for tasks beyond answering questions, adding coding tools, image generation, and partner-built applications, including Canva and Booking.com.

The move is meant to help OpenAI compete with rivals such as Anthropic and reflects a push toward AI agents that can handle multi-step tasks such as booking travel or managing calendars.

A separate report on June 3 said OpenAI plans to combine Codex and ChatGPT into a superapp.

OpenAI has already launched Operator, a web agent that can book travel, and it has also worked with Booking.com to personalize travel using its AI models.

Codex’s weekly active users rose 6x to more than 5 million since launch, and OpenAI’s business customers account for about 40% of revenue, a share that could rise to 50% by year-end.
