OpenAI merges o3 into GPT-5, plans GPT-4.5 release first
OpenAI has canceled the release of its anticipated AI model, o3, and will instead integrate its features into the upcoming GPT-5 model.
This model will be available for use in ChatGPT and its API.
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, shared the update on the social media platform X, said that the move aims to streamline the company’s product offerings.
Prior to GPT-5, OpenAI plans to release GPT-4.5, which cill be the final version of its “non-chain-of-thought model.”
No timeline has been provided for the release of GPT-5.
