OpenAI filed a trademark application for “OpenAI o1,” aiming to secure intellectual property for its latest AI model.

The submission was made to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on Tuesday.

The application is presently under review by a USPTO examining attorney.

The o1 model is OpenAI’s first “reasoning” model designed to handle complex tasks and check its accuracy by thoroughly considering queries.
