OpenAI commits $50m to nonprofit, community efforts
OpenAI has announced a US$50 million fund to support nonprofit and community organizations.
The initiative follows recommendations from the independent OpenAI Nonprofit Commission, which consulted over 500 nonprofits and community experts representing more than 7 million Americans.
The fund aims to enhance impact and innovation by applying AI in education, healthcare, economic opportunity, and community organizing.
It will also support community-led research focused on using AI for public benefit.
OpenAI plans future partnerships and programs to further expand its impact.
