OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and executives from the AI search startup Perplexity have pledged US$1 million each to United States President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural fund.

These contributions align with efforts by technology companies to strengthen their relationships with the incoming administration.

Altman, who has previously supported President Biden’s reelection campaign, has publicly endorsed Trump’s stance on enhancing the United States presence in artificial intelligence.

Meanwhile, Perplexity’s chief business officer, Dmitry Shevelenko, confirmed the company’s commitment to collaborate with Trump’s team by offering its premium software for AI initiatives.

In addition to OpenAI and Perplexity, Amazon and Meta have made similar pledges of US$1 million each.
