OpenAI on June 2 added six job-specific plug-ins, plus Sites and Annotations, to Codex, broadening the AI tool beyond software engineering as it targeted enterprise users.

The plug-ins cover data analytics, creative production, sales, product design, equity investing, and investment banking. Sites lets Codex turn work into hosted interactive websites, while Annotations lets users mark specific parts of a document or file for more precise commands.

The rollout builds on support added in March that let users create plug-ins for project-specific software tasks and external app integrations, a launch aimed mainly at software teams.

Codex is included in ChatGPT Free, Go, Plus, Pro, Business, Edu, and Enterprise plans, while Sites is free in preview. OpenAI has not disclosed pricing for Annotations.

Public Codex docs do not detail privacy or sharing controls specific to Sites or Annotations.

OpenAI said Codex had more than 5 million weekly active users, and knowledge workers made up about 20% of them.

The company said the push followed The Deployment Company, a venture meant to help businesses roll out OpenAI software after raising more than US$4 billion.
