OpenAI developed the Agentic Commerce Protocol with Stripe and is making the technology open source for other merchants and developers.

The service is free for users, with merchants paying a fee per purchase.

All payments and order fulfillment are handled by merchants, while ChatGPT acts as an intermediary.

Users confirm each step, and only necessary order details are shared.

Expansion to more regions and merchants is planned.
