Atlassian, an Australia-founded software company known for workplace and developer tools such as Jira and Confluence, and OpenAI said on October 6 that they are expanding their partnership.

GPT-6 models will be used across Atlassian’s platform and Rovo to support work planning, software development, and delivery.

Rovo combines AI with Atlassian’s Teamwork Graph, which connects company data and context.

The agreement gives Atlassian access to more models, including GPT-6 Astra and the GPT-5.6 series. OpenAI will also keep using Jira to manage internal workflows.

The companies started working together in 2023. Atlassian said more than 3,000 of its developers use Codex, and it is expanding its use of Codex and ChatGPT Enterprise.

Atlassian has published AI trust materials and a support page covering how Rovo customer data is handled.

However, the available search results did not include usable policy text.

This means the reviewed material did not confirm data retention or training limits, or whether OpenAI is Rovo’s only model provider.
