OpenAI has acquired NextSlide, a presentation startup founded by Ahmed Beshry, with the startup’s team now working on ChatGPT.

Beshry said on LinkedIn that the announcement came a few months late and that the acquisition took place earlier in 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.

On its website, NextSlide said its product could turn prompts, notes, documents, or research into editable presentations.

The acquisition could add to ChatGPT’s presentation features. Its Canvas workspace already lets users write and edit content and sketch presentations, while PowerPoint Copilot can generate slides from prompts or Word documents.

Beshry previously co-founded Caper AI, which Instacart acquired in 2021.
