Open-source AI startup Browser Use nets $17m seed funding

Browser Use, a startup focused on improving website navigation for AI agents, has raised US$17 million in seed funding.

The round was led by Astasia Myers from Felicis, with participation from Paul Graham, A Capital, and Nexus Venture Partners.

Founded in 2024 by Magnus Müller and Gregor Žunič at ETH Zurich, the company converts website elements into text format, making it easier for AI agents to navigate sites.

The startup gained attention after being integrated into Butterfly Effect’s Manus tool and has attracted over 20 Y Combinator W25 companies to adopt its solution. Its tool is also open source.

The funding will help enhance its capabilities and develop its technology further.

Astasia Myers highlighted the potential of web AI agents in automation and cited Browser Use’s open-source-first approach as a key factor in the investment.
