Ola Electric to raise up to $170.8m for EV expansion
Ola Electric Mobility Ltd. has approved a plan to raise up to 1,500 crore rupee (US$170.8 million) through equity and convertible securities, according to a stock exchange filing.
The funds may be raised via public offer, rights issue, qualified institutional placement, private placement, or other permitted methods.
The move supports its expansion of the two-wheeler lineup, charging infrastructure, and Gigafactory in Tamil Nadu.
The fundraising comes amid organizational changes and shareholder exits, with Hyundai Motor and Kia Corp. selling their entire stakes in June 2025, and SoftBank and Z47 reducing their holdings.
In Q1 FY26, Ola Electric reported a 50% revenue drop and a 23% rise in losses, while Ather Energy overtook it in September EV sales, and TVS Motor maintained its lead.
