Nvidia unveils OpenShell reference architecture

At GTC Berlin on October 21, Nvidia unveiled OpenShell Reference Architecture, a design for running AI agents on enterprise and edge systems with monitoring and policy controls.

Nvidia said the design builds on its OpenShell runtime and combines Vera Rubin infrastructure, Vera CPUs, and BlueField data processing units running Sentry security software.

It supports Linux and Kubernetes, Windows through Microsoft Execution Containers, and cloud platforms from Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure.

Red Hat is providing supported infrastructure. SAP is integrating the architecture, while ServiceNow announced an agent enforced by OpenShell.

Dell Technologies, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Lenovo are building infrastructure with the design.

Palantir is also working with Nvidia and customers on deployments. Nvidia said the reference architecture is available now.
