Nvidia says Synopsys, Siemens adopt CUDA-X for chipmaking
Nvidia said semiconductor companies are adopting its CUDA-X libraries for chip design and manufacturing as chip production grows more complex.
Its cuPotential library speeds up atomic-scale simulations and can support AI agents that model how atoms and molecules interact.
Applications include materials simulation, chip patterning, inspection, and digital twins.
Adopters include Synopsys, a US-based engineering software company, Siemens, a Germany-based industrial technology company, and Applied Materials, a US-based semiconductor equipment supplier, according to Nvidia.
Synopsys and Nvidia have also partnered more broadly on engineering and design, placing Synopsys’ adoption within a broader collaboration.
Siemens separately works with Nvidia on industrial AI and manufacturing digital twins, although the cited material does not mention semiconductor fabs.
Nvidia said Siemens uses cuLitho for chip-pattern refinement and mask preparation.
Nvidia said cuPotential is available in early access. Separately, NanoVDB is available as open source within OpenVDB, while NPP is available through the CUDA Toolkit.
