Nvidia signs AI data center and memory deals in S Korea

Nvidia said on June 8 that it had signed agreements in South Korea with SK hynix, Naver, and Doosan Group on AI data centers and the use of its technology. The companies did not disclose deal values.

Nvidia also announced a multi-year technology partnership with SK hynix to develop next-generation memory for global AI data centers.

SK hynix said the partnership would support its expansion into areas such as personal AI and physical AI, and help secure a stable memory chip supply despite the long development cycles for advanced memory semiconductors.

SK Telecom, an SK Group affiliate, said it plans to build a gigawatt-scale AI cloud in South Korea using Nvidia technology, with its first AI data center due to come online in 2027.

Doosan said it expects its energy solution to be used in Nvidia data center platforms and that it will also use Nvidia physical AI technology.
