Nvidia launches XR AI platform for factories, hospitals
Nvidia has introduced XR AI. The platform is designed for AI-powered applications used through AR glasses and XR devices in factories, labs, and hospitals.
The framework is in public beta. It links XR hardware to back-end GPU resources across cloud, data center, workstation, and edge deployments, using video, audio, depth, pose, and sensor data.
Nvidia said XR AI is for frontline tasks including voice assistance, procedure guidance, verification, and app control. Siemens is exploring it in research on factory maintenance research. The work extends a partnership that began in 2022 around digital twins and industrial AI.
Rana, an AutoBio company developing AI systems for scientific research, is introducing its LabOS system on XR AI. Initial research deployments include Stanford University School of Medicine and Princeton University.
MarketsandMarkets estimated the XR market would grow 28.3% annually from 2024 to 2029, partly driven by manufacturing and healthcare demand.
