Nvidia joins French AI startup Gradium’s $100m seed round
Gradium said on July 9 that it had reopened its seed round, added Nvidia as an investor, and raised total seed funding to US$100 million.
The extension added about US$30 million, and the company has not disclosed its valuation.
The original US$70 million seed round, announced in December, was led by FirstMark Capital and Eurazeo, with participation from DST Global Partners, Korelya Capital, Amplify Partners, Eric Schmidt, Xavier Niel, Rodolphe Saadé, and others.
Gradium, a Paris-based startup that builds audio-native AI models for voice products, offers real-time multilingual transcription and speech synthesis for developers and enterprises.
Gradium was spun out of French AI lab Kyutai, which remains a shareholder as the startup commercialises some of the non-profit lab’s open-source voice AI research.
The company said the new capital would fund a Bay Area office and hiring in the region.
