Nvidia to invest $1b in Nokia for AI data centers

Nvidia will invest US$1 billion for a 2.9% stake in Nokia as part of a deal focusing on AI and data center technology.

Nokia, a Finnish telecom equipment maker, said the companies will collaborate on AI networking solutions, and may integrate Nokia’s data center products into Nvidia’s infrastructure plans.

Nvidia will subscribe to over 166 million new Nokia shares at US$6 each, making it Nokia’s second-largest shareholder.

Nokia also announced a partnership with Nvidia and T-Mobile US to develop AI radio technologies for 6G, with trials planned for next year.

Nokia’s CEO said the new equipment is expected to contribute to revenue starting in 2027.
