Nvidia said on July 16 that it expanded partnership across multiple industries in Japan, including automotive, finance, robotics, and healthcare.

The Toyota partnership expands an earlier agreement on next-generation vehicles and now also covers factory and urban systems.

In finance, Mizuho, a Japanese banking group, plans an on-premises AI factory for information gathering, document creation, analysis, and system development.

The Japan Research Institute, SMBC Group’s core information technology company, has deployed an AI factory using Nvidia Nemotron open models.

The broader push comes as Japanese cloud providers build regional AI infrastructure under a Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry program to expand computing capacity across industries.
